FAQs

Do we have to use the paper in the Little Artist Kit?

Not at all! The drawing page in the Little Artist Kit is simply there to help your child get started. Your little artist is welcome to create on any plain white paper using crayons, markers, paint, colored pencils, watercolor, chalk, collage, or any other favorite art supplies. We want to see their imagination—not perfect formatting.

Does my child have to be a good artist?

Absolutely not! This project celebrates creativity, imagination, and storytelling—not technical drawing skills. Whether your child draws stick figures, colorful scribbles, magical castles, or detailed dragons, we want to see the ideas only they could dream up. Big imaginations are what we're looking for.

What does the Grand Prize winner receive?

One child's imagination will become a real Little Laura Lane pajama collection!

The Grand Prize includes:

  • Their artwork transformed into a Little Laura Lane print
  • A $250 Little Laura Lane shop credit
  • A pair of pajamas featuring their design
  • A feature on our website

It's our favorite way to celebrate childhood creativity.

Who can enter?

The Little Dreamers Project is open to children ages 0–10. A parent or legal guardian must submit the entry, and each child may submit one original piece of artwork. Please see the Official Rules for more information.

What kinds of artwork can my child create?

Almost anything!

We encourage children to dream big. They can draw animals, magical worlds, dinosaurs, bugs, castles, robots, outer space, flowers, made-up creatures—whatever inspires them. Original ideas are encouraged, but please avoid copyrighted characters or logos (such as Disney, Bluey, Pokémon, Marvel, etc.).

Do I have to join the VIP Facebook Group?

No! Entering the contest is completely free, and joining the VIP Group is optional.

Our VIP Group is where the fun continues. Members get to:

  • Vote for their favorite finalists
  • Watch the winning artwork become real pajamas
  • See behind-the-scenes updates
  • Shop the winning collection before everyone else

If you'd like to be part of the journey, we'd love to have you!

How are winners chosen?

The contest happens in three rounds.

Round 1: The Little Laura Lane team reviews eligible entries and selects the Top 25.

Round 2: The Little Laura Lane VIP Community votes for the Top 10 finalists.

Round 3: The VIP Community votes for the People's Choice Award, while the Little Laura Lane team independently selects the Grand Prize winner.

We'll also recognize Age Group Award winners because there are so many amazing young artists.

What happens if my child doesn't win?

Every child who enters is already a Little Dreamer in our eyes.

Every participant receives:

  • A printable Little Artist Certificate
  • An exclusive Little Laura Lane coupon
  • One entry into the $100 Shopping Spree Drawing

Many entries may also be featured throughout the contest (with permission), so there are lots of ways to celebrate your child's creativity—even if they aren't selected as the Grand Prize winner.

Will my child's artwork be shared publicly?

Only if you give permission.

During submission, you'll choose whether you'd like your child's artwork to be eligible for public features. If you opt in, their artwork may be shared if selected as a finalist or featured during The Little Dreamers Project. If you choose not to, their artwork will only be used for judging.

Who owns my child's artwork?

Your family always owns your child's original artwork.

If your child's design is selected to become a real Little Laura Lane collection, we'll contact your family before production begins and work with you through a separate permission or licensing agreement. Nothing is manufactured without your approval.
